Effortless…

Wheelbarrow-Bird-copy
I used two of Kim’s textures, one was “empty page”, the other I have named kk1; I think it’s name got removed when moving files around one time. I also used two of Kim’s Lightroom Presets- Classic Warm 2, and Days of Old. I also added a couple of RadLab filters as well. I am enjoying shooting very simple layouts; I used a scarf I own plus a wheelbarrow that has a found bird nest and a ceramic bird. Effortless composition!

Texture Tuesday “Yellow”

Chihuly-Outdoors-copy
Here is a shot I took last month in Seattle in the Chihuly garden. A friend said that this piece looks like a Chihuly self-portrait since he has a wild mass of curly hair. I thought it would be good for this week’s “yellow” theme for Kim Klassen’s Texture Tuesday. I used kk_july-1 for the texture layer, at 15% opacity and a blend mode of Color Dodge.

Memories of Love…

Sewing-Vignette1-copy
Had a wonderful day taking photos with photographer and friend Sherri Reed. We set up all kinds of vignettes and took the photos outside in my backyard. This piece is nostalgic for me because it contains a few items from my Mom. I used some textures from Design Cuts; http://www.designcuts.com- Flyerphotooverlays5canvas, texture #21; and 2LO Distressed 11. I adjusted the opacity and blend mode on each texture used. The border is from onOne- Emulsion Transfer 2. Creating vignettes in my home and also specifically for a photo shoot are such a joy to create. A perfect day with a like-minded friend!

More Autumn Color…

Autumn,-the-year's-last-loveliest-smile-copy
This crepe myrtle has the loveliest autumn color! We just re-did this side of our yard earlier this year, so the tree isn’t too large yet. Oh, but what delight! A Facebook friend had used this William Cullen Bryant on a photo of her own, and I liked it so much I used the quote on this image.
