Color Me Happy!

Color Me Happy copy.jpg

Loved creating this piece for a “Color Me Happy” Let’s Face It lesson. I used a Pinterest image for my inspiration. I am also “Colored Happy” because we passed the final city inspection for my studio addition today. Happy dance!

Paint, Pastel, Play!

Pastel and Paint Finished.jpg

My week #9 rendition of Juna Biagioni’s bonus lesson. I could spend more time on her but have decided to call her done. I enjoyed the process of working with acrylics, pastel pencils and oil pastels along with a black Stabilo pencil. Created on Arches cold press watercolor paper.

Inspired by Francoise De Felice copy

This piece was inspired by Kate Thompson’s class in Studying Under the Masters. The artist she had chosen was Francoise de Felice. Francoise creates beautiful paintings. The pattern on the neck is from a William Morris print. The substrate is cradled wood with Venetian plaster and stencils. Lots of transparent layers; painted with Golden Open Acrylics. I admire Francoise’s work very much and found this piece enjoyable to paint!

Digitally Fractured

Fractured-Angel-Digital-Play2-copy I wanted to play around with my first Fractured angel painting in Photoshop. I had fun adding some textures and design elements using Design Cuts new Vintage Pack, http://www.designcuts.com. I also used a Gelli Plate painting for an overlay over the original painting. It doubles the pleasure of painting when you can then transform them digitally as well. If everyone in the world painted or did something creative, there would be less strife and tragedy.
I have a great idea- why not make warring leaders sit and paint each other’s portraits? Perhaps they would come to better understandings by taking the time to do this. :)
