For the child in all of us…

For the child in all of us…

Although my Mom wasn’t known for her cooking, I have so many memories of her cooking for the holidays and for our family. I also have lots of memories of my husband’s Mom cooking as well. It will be one year on November 2 since my Mother’s passing, so I guess i am feeling a bit nostalgic. This Daily Grace is for all of the cooks who influenced my own cooking.

#27 in my Daily Graces series. I am trying to make use of the many graphics design elements I have (most from Design Cuts and the AWAKE content). I love to just scroll through my folders and design just for the fun of it. And then to find a quote or scripture verse that speaks to me at that time. As one who loves to read, I really liked this quote by Marcel Proust.

Sometimes it is fun to create some digital art just for the fun of it. This piece is called, “Ars Gratia Artis”, or in other words, Art for Art’s Sake.

…and the living is easy… Just enjoying some free creative time playing around in Photoshop with a hand-painted background and lots of fun layers!

I had painted a background for a portrait I am working on and I always like to take photos of the backgrounds to use for digital pieces. I used some design elements from itKuPilli and some textures from design Cuts on this piece. Entitled, “She.”
Billa Bozem is one of the digital artists featured in the AWAKE class led by Sebastian Michaels. Her work is multi-layered and dreamily fantastical. I really got into layering with this piece. This piece I created features itKuPilli Design elements for the most part and a few of my own touches as well. So much depth in these types of designs.
I began this piece with a hand painted collage which led to some serious thinking on how so many children in today’s world have to grow up so quickly, thus losing their childhood so to speak. I love how during the creative process what starts out as a lighthearted piece can become fraught with hidden meaning.
