I love when Facebook brings up one of my older Daily Graces whose files I lost when the Tubbs fire destroyed our home- having no warning we weren’t given any time to save anything except ourselves, our dog and 1 car. So these long lost Daily Graces entries are a joy to me.
Portrait is very loosely based on a Juliette Belmonte painting. Painted on a 9 x 12 cradled board. Mixed media background is the prep for another painting.
Three steps of this multi-layered painting for week 2 of Let’s Face It 2023.
“Happy are the painters, for they shall not be lonely. Light and colour, peace and hope, will keep them company to the end, or almost to the end, of the day.” ― Winston Churchill
I painted this portrait in tones of black and white with a burnt umber base painting. I had fun playing around with it in Filter Forge so put these 4 renditions together. Original posted below. The image was found on Unsplash.
