I saw this quote in a book I am reading and although it is from a letter that Emily Dickinson wrote to a friend and not technically a poem, it inspired my creation of this image. She wrote the letter telling her friend about how she felt when moving to a new house. And having moved from CA to CO to OR since 2018, I can relate to the feeling that when in a new house you look to make it your own and to see parts of yourself in it. For me it is the art I put on the walls, the flowers I bring inside, other creative touches and also how I plant my garden.
