An Original From 6 Years Ago

Still waiting for fall weather to really kick in. September was the 11th warmest for my region. This weekend will be warm again and the wind will be bringing back smoke from the fire to the east.
It is almost the 5th anniversary of the Tubbs fire (October 8), which decimated my home and quite a bit of my hometown. At least what authorities learned from our fire was to warn people when they are in the direct path of a firestorm. We were NOT notified and only had minutes to flee the flames that engulfed our neighborhood. Having to smell smoke makes me have to relive that horrific event again and again.
