This piece was inspired by Kate Thompson’s class in Studying Under the Masters. The artist she had chosen was Francoise de Felice. Francoise creates beautiful paintings. The pattern on the neck is from a William Morris print. The substrate is cradled wood with Venetian plaster and stencils. Lots of transparent layers; painted with Golden Open Acrylics. I admire Francoise’s work very much and found this piece enjoyable to paint!
Jeanne Oliver’s Studying Under the Masters class has different artists learning at the feet of painting masters. This piece was done after a Henry Clive painting and this particular lesson was taught by Christy Tomlinson. Painted with acrylics. I then brought the painting into Photoshop where I added a bit of a Gaussian Blur and also a Topaz filter to soften the effect.
