I used a sky image I had taken on a trip to Santa Fe, NM a few years ago to add into Kim Klassen’s Canola photo for the Beyond Beyond Class Day 13.. This was a fun exercise.
I noticed my dog about to eat something back by the redwood trees in my backyard and ran to him in case it was something that would make him sick. I found this beautiful bird egg (I am guessing a crow’s, since I think they have a nest up above). It had a little hole in it and was empty, but otherwise still perfectly formed. I just had to fetch an old nest I had found and kept and take some photos of the egg. That was today’s gift photo opportunity!
This photo was taken on a vacation a few years ago. I love to visit garden stores. This one was in Carmel, CA. I played with the gradient filter and made a preset. I also added a RadLab filter to this image to soften it up a bit.
This prompt made me immediately think of Victoria Magazine and the lovely images so often found in it. I got the typography idea from the November 1990 cover. I used Kim’s Simplicity texture.
This photo was taken a few years ago. Another reason to love living on the north coast; the gorgeous redwood trees!
I love this photo taken of the tulip tree in my backyard. The lighting was right…ahhhh…
A serendipitous photo from my day with Sherri. After we took some photos in her light box, we would move the items to her windowsill. This set-up caught both of our eyes; just had to shoot it!
