This is my one word piece. I thought “diaphanous” was a good descriptive term for both the appearance and the feeling invoked. This is a vignette I have set up in my entryway. I used the “plaster squared” texture, and I also lowered the clarity in Camera Raw settings, along with a Filter Forge Filter.
I chose this shot of a primrose from my garden as one of my first assignment shots. I like the value contrast and the soft focus that was applied using a filter from Filter Forge (my favorite outside source for filters).
I am making some changes this year. After running the Arttechniques Yahoo Mixed Media Art group for about 10 years, I decided to do something for my own art enrichment and signed up for both of Kim Klassen’s Beyond Layers and Beyond Beyond classes. I am looking forward to working on the assignments. I started this new blog because I have constant headaches tryng to access my old blogs at Blogger. A new blog, a new year, a new journey!
My word for this year is “ANTICIPATION”, and that aptly suits this new adventure for me.
The featured photo for this link is one I took for the first assignment for Beyond Beyond.
